WNHS Discovers Mastodon Bones at Development

During the development of a new affordable housing complex–Seavy Meadows in Northeast Corvallis–a heavy equipment operator caught sight of something interesting: mastodon bones buried in the earth. Mid-valley Newspapers has an article about the discovery and you can hear WNHS Executive Director talk about the find on YouTube!

A special thanks goes out to the Corvallis Gazette-Times for giving roses to heavy equipment operator Vernon Kessi who spotted the mastodon bones while digging a sewer line.
